Richard joined OPG six years ago as a Senior Software Engineer, working on OPG’s nuclear power plant simulators. He was promoted to his current role leading the simulator team in August of 2021. He has oversight responsibility for all of the simulators at the Darlington and Pickering stations. This includes 4 Full Scope Control Room Simulators, 4 Fuel Handling Simulators, the Tritium Removal Facility Simulator, and several Glasstop/Classroom simulators.Prior to joining OPG, Richard worked in the manufacturing sector where he worked in R&D, modeling and in the petrochemical industry before moving into management roles. Richard holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Durham College and a Bachelors Degree of Nuclear Engineering from Ontario Tech University. When you can’t find him at work, he is spending time with his wife and two daughters, or fixing his often vintage cars.
